belly dance

We gave our souls and minds some rest and then a more secular performance took place.
The dancer entered the room and her shiny red dress spoke to us: “I know how to shake it.” When we finally turned our eyes away from striking red that embraced her thighs we realized her face looked somewhat Asian. Her dance was so beautiful and to me she was a real artist, the dress emphasized her every move: way it changed colors from bright to dark and it seemed like her whole body moved at the same time, she was shaking every inch of it.

To me her dance was an art; it was never even close to erotic. Maybe her dress would stir minds there, but if she danced in Slovenia she would have to take some off to make a similar effect. There was a lot of acting too: she asked women to touch her vibrating belly and when men did so she would slap their hands, she really tried to make us laugh with her humor and smile and her mission was accomplished.

Afterwards I tried to seek for the indecent parts of the dance and I found that there were some indications of her impurity: she was going from one male dance to another and she couldn’t make up her mind which one to dance with, finally she danced with both. Maybe one could conclude that she was easy, slutty and into orgies, though to make this out of the whole story you would really have to go into things too much.

Ok there was some hint of animalism when she kissed a man dressed up as a horse, but it was all hidden in a joke. Maybe they wanted to show us discreetly that this isn’t considered just dancing.

At the end of the day I think belly dancing show was the best thing I experienced in Egypt.

i don't know if you've noticed, since you've only seen one, but belly dancers in Egypt are known not to be thin. they like them a bit in the big side, which i always found interesting, since it's so much in contrast to the idea of what is attractive in the West. i think the one in the picture is an exception, but i think that's because she's asian, and asians are genereally very thin. or the ones ive seen anyway

yea i expected a not thin dancer, but nevertheles this one had some material to shake it too.
yea the idea is interesting but i have to tell you that here at least men don't prefer too thin women eighter, it's just the media that makes the impression that being thin is the most one can be

Bellydancing is really amazing! I’m envious of your Egyptian trip :)
It’s a pity that some locals consider this art as something dissolute, and call their dance-legends as whores.

belly dancing is great, it's an art

as for locals' reactions on it i can understand them, it's their way of thinking and religion. such dance and dressing there is shared in a bedroom between a man and a woman and not for public, it's the same as sex is here and it is unconvential for women to do otherwise and we have a name for them :P

as much as i admire belly dancing i also understand the locals

zee tnx, you're charming as always, i really needed an encouraging comment here since describing my trip is very hard on me i would like to make it sound interesting instead of being just a description.

now i see that i'm doing ok :)
